Real Madrid are trying to make a lot of sales at the moment, but it’s as if they are trying to sell players that no one really wants. Marco Asensio, Mariano Diaz, Dani Ceballos, Borja Mayoral are players that the club does not use, but apparently, none of them wants to leave.
That can be said for three of the players on that list, but a fourth – Borja Mayoral – is on his way out of Real Madrid.
According to Mario Cortegana and Arancha Rodriguez, Real Madrid has finally concluded an agreement in principle with Getafe over the sale of Borja Mayoral. The club will receive 10 million euros once the deal is completed.
Real Madrid cannot spend another season with Mariano as Benzema’s replacement
Ancelotti tried to play Hazard as a “fake” 9th striker in the last El Clasico match against Barcelona. The experiment went horribly wrong, but it only lasted for one run, so there is potential for improvement.
But if things don’t go well, Real Madrid will once again be stuck with Mariano Diaz as the only replacement for Benzema.
Mariano is simply not good enough. But Real Madrid should not even think about signing a young striker, because Diaz will take the minutes that the young player needs.
Alternatively, if Real Madrid chooses a veteran striker like Edin Dzeko, things could get interesting. He can do the job for a season or two, and his experience means he delivers when you need him to. His age may mean that Dzeko will not ask for a bigger role on the team and will not be upset about being replaced by Karim.
Look what Barcelona are doing. Their main striker is Robert Lewandowski, who is backed by another good striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
You don’t always have to be a young striker to support a player like Benzema. Players like Dzeko will be strong, and it’s time for Real Madrid to look into this.
