Real Madrid begins its summer tour in Los Angeles with its star. Karim Benzema was the good news in the team’s first training session after joining the US tour live, courtesy of Ancelotti.
The Frenchman, who said upon arriving at the team’s hotel in Beverly Hills that he had used Carlo Ancelotti’s gift “for mental rest”, showed in the garden of Wallis-Annberg Stadium at the University of California that he had made good use of the extra holiday and that he had come with his batteries fully charged.
The new white captain trained as hard as the rest, even though it’s his first day and the bulk of the team has been training for thirteen years. He wanted to set an example and was fully involved in the workouts, a sign that he’s used the summer to take care of himself physically too.
The effects of that were evident on his body. The Frenchman is still showing the effects on the skin of his legs from the “cupping” treatment he uses for muscular recovery.
There is so much momentum in Karim that although there are only a few days left for Saturday’s Clasico in Las Vegas, he could have the first minutes before the start of the season against Barcelona and their new star, Lewandowski.
The Frenchman was the protagonist in his first UCLA training session, and he said, “I’m fine. On vacation I relaxed and did another training. It calmed my mind above all else.”
Bentos was gentle as he preferred to help the players cope with the time difference with Los Angeles (nine hours less than Spain) and only scheduled a training session today but from tomorrow Thursday he will press again with a new double session, which will therefore be Benzema’s first.
