Ancelotti rejected the best signing for Real Madrid.. and he was right

Karim Benzema is one of the most successful players in the history of football. The French player won 22 titles with Real Madrid, and stands behind Marcelo with only three titles, knowing that the Brazilian will not be able to add more titles in the white shirt.

The Frenchman arrived in the white team in the summer of 2009, but his adaptation was not at all easy due to the language and other factors. In his early years, he was not able to show his true level of football and even became the subject of much criticism.

The Frenchman competed for years for the position with Gonzalo Higuain, the Argentine striker who performed well with the white shirt. Karim Benzema was late, but ended up becoming the undisputed star of the first team and making fans fall in love with him.

Ancelotti has always supported Benzema

In 2013, Carlo Ancelotti, who with Real Madrid won the 10th European Champions League, arrived. That same summer, after winning the Champions League in Lisbon, the white team had the option to sign Luis Suarez, but eventually ended up going to Barcelona.

Real Madrid came close to signing with the Uruguayan, but Jose Angel Sanchez made it clear to Carlo Ancelotti: If Suarez comes, he should leave Benzema, which he categorically refused. To this day, this decision can be said to have been successful.
