Luka Jovic’s gray phase at Real Madrid ends for everyone, for the player, his agents and the club. Three seasons the 24-year-old Serbian striker did not have a real role in the white team. Only 1566 minutes of play and three goals in the white jersey. The striker will leave on a free transfer to Fiorentina. Real Madrid will, however, keep 50% of any sale to him in the future.
The change of scene was well received by Jovich’s entourage. It was his father, 46, who appreciated the movement in brief statements to the media in his country.
Jovic’s father said: “It’s the right move. An opportunity for all of us to find out who is right and who is wrong. To look each other in the eyes and see if you are strong or not.”
Jovic’s loss will be the fourth loss this summer in the Real Madrid squad, the first departure if we ignore the farewell to the three players (Marcelo, Bale and Isco) who left after the expiration of their contract with the white club. Jovic, for whom Real Madrid paid €60m to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019, is leaving for free after three years.
For Real Madrid, however, it pays to let him go. It saves the total of the nine million euros he earns per season and saves the possibility of taking a portion of the future sale if Jovic performs well at Fiorentina.
