Real Madrid are said to be looking to sign outstanding Tottenham striker Son Heung-min during the summer transfer window after failing to sign Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
With Mbappe opting to extend his contract in France with Paris Saint-Germain and Haaland returning to his country of birth to sign for Manchester City, Carlo Ancelotti’s side could turn their attention to the South Korean international.
The 29-year-old won the Premier League Golden Boot last season while shining under Antonio Conte and has now scored 131 goals for the North London side from 325 appearances in all competitions.
European football journalist Rudi Galletti reports that Real Madrid are following the profiles of various strikers as they look to strengthen their squad.
Among these options is said to be champion Tottenham Son, who continues to impress in the Premier League after scoring 23 goals in the domestic competition last season.
Spurs have enjoyed a positive transfer window so far with the signing of Ivan Bisuma, Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic for £25m, as well as reclaiming £6m for Cameron Carter-Vickers.
Son remains a big part of Antonio Conte’s plans alongside his attacking partner Harry Kane, and looks unlikely to push the way out.
“I am very happy for Sony and I told him that because he is a very nice person,” Conte said after Son won the Golden Boot joint with Mohamed Salah.
He added, “Honestly, this guy is a very special man. Sure, one of the best people I’ve worked with but it also meant we did things right and made sure to give him a chance to go and do a good job. I am very happy for him because what he did is not easy in the Premier League and I am very happy for the team.”
