Huge offer to Vinicius junior

Vinicius Junior received an offer from Paris Saint-Germain that would have quadrupled his salary.

The Parisians were willing to offer a lucrative contract worth £34.3m a year stipend to lure Vinicius to the Parc des Princes. This is said to be four times more than the salary the striker has agreed to in his new contract, which will keep him in the Spanish capital.

The Spanish newspaper Marca reported details of Vinicius’ new contract with Real Madrid and also claimed that Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea want to sign the Brazilian. However, this did not go beyond the initial stage due to his desire to remain in Spain.

Paris Saint-Germain had the greatest interest in the Brazilian – although they did not succeed in the end despite their enormous financial strength (Vinicius turned down the offer). The move would have seen Vinicius link up with star striker Kylian Mbappe, who was around the corner from playing with the Brazilian in La Liga.

Mbappe opted to extend his contract for three years with the Ligue 1 champions, to remain in the French capital until 2025. The deal ensured he would not join Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer, as many had expected – with speculation he had given his word to the Spanish giants. He will join them this year.

As part of his stunning new deal, there have been reports that Mbappe will be a major influence in the club’s backyard decisions. This will include giving the striker an opinion on which players to sign along with decisions about sporting directors and directors.

“I want to continue at the best club in the world,” Vinicius recently told SportsTV. The forward also spoke about setting his sights on the 2022 World Cup, describing the difference in style between his team and the national team. He said: “In the Brazilian national team we play at a higher level, Tite asks us a lot to attack. In Madrid, I’m a little late”

The Brazilian scored the winning goal in the Champions League final last month against Liverpool, capping a wonderful season for both his club and on a personal level, as he scored 22 goals in all competitions.
