Milan thanks Real Madrid

The Italian coach, Carlo Ancelotti, had a phone call with Paolo Maldini. The current sporting director of Milan denies interest in Raphael Leao, according to “Corriere dello Sport”. The Portuguese striker is not among the white plans for this summer and they will not try to sign him.

Leao’s brilliant season caused his name to be heard by the major European clubs and in Italy they were particularly interested in Real Madrid. Ancelotti himself was responsible for denying the rumors and called Maldini directly to tell him “we don’t care”.

Leao is one of the great gems that Milan have in their ranks and their goal is to be able to keep him for at least one more season. Rumors are spreading more and more in Italy and its continuation is never confirmed. The striker scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists this season.

Faced with this situation, Carlo wanted to make a call to his friend and former partner, Paolo Maldini, in order to calm the situation. The former Rossoneri player thanked Ancelotti for the call, because at Milan they are going through very intense weeks around the Portuguese.

Focus elsewhere

Milan signed Rafael Leao two seasons ago from Lille for 29.5 million euros, and the price of the striker is now 70 million, according to “Transfermarkt”. In Italy, they have proven that his departure can reach 100 million euros, a figure that few clubs can afford.

However, in Valdebebas they are looking for another type of player, able to get the role of the second striker. The presence of Benzema overshadows any deal that reaches the white team, and the goal is to get a player with enough quality and confidence to contribute whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Jovic and Mariano Carlo Ancelotti does not count on them and at Real Madrid they are already working on their departure. Gabriel Jesus has been one of the names that has sounded the most in the last hours, but non-EU situations make it difficult for him to work. We’ll see more names up front, with at least one striker arriving this summer.
