La Liga is considering taking legal actions against PSG after renewing Mbappe contract: “What happened is nonsense, shameful, ugly and an insult to football”

La Liga is awaiting the official status of Mbappe’s renewal with Paris Saint-Germain to decide whether to take legal action against the Parisian team before UEFA and other French authorities.

They remember that PSG incurred losses of 220 million euros and a wage bill in excess of 600 million euros, which makes it unreasonable to make a renovation of amounts exceeding the limits and more with the start of implementation of the new Financial Fair Play Law.

Javier Tebas, La Liga president, also criticized the renewal: “What PSG will do by renewing Mbappe’s contract with large sums of money (to see where and how he pays them) after incurring 700 million euros in losses in recent seasons and paying 600 million in wages is an insult to football. Al-Khelaifi is as dangerous as the European Super League.”

In the La Liga offices, they described the move by Paris Saint-Germain as “nonsense”, “a disgrace” and “ugly”. They consider that the real challenge for UEFA is to now have to impose the new financial supervision they have just agreed, and they will be very attentive to PSG’s financial moves.

La Liga has been very strict in recent years with Spanish clubs so that they comply with financial regulations, and Tebas has called on clubs funded by countries and governments to comply with them also in Europe so that everyone can compete on an equal footing and not do financial doping.
