Before UCL final.. Ancelotti calls to apply a new rule in football matches

Carlo Ancelotti, after winning the La Liga title with Real Madrid and waiting for the Champions League final against Liverpool in Paris, was one of the guests at the “Football That Italy Deserves” forum organized by Corriere dello Sport newspaper. The madridista coach talked about the state of football in Italy: “Italian football must find a way to improve itself in the scene it presents.”

Lack of talent: “Calcio is unattractive for various reasons. There is a shortage of stars, after 2006 it was very difficult to find new talents. They won the European Championship, it’s true, but there is not the same quality as it was 15 years ago.”

Young people: “Italian players do not find a place in the big clubs in Italy, there is a tendency to look for foreigners more, especially because of the new tax law and its advantages. In 2019, there was the final of the European Under-19 Championship, and the Portuguese team Porto, which won all its players, then played in important tournaments, the Italians are not.”

Mouse technology: “Mouse technology needs to be improved. It cannot intervene in all cases that occur in the region, only critical errors should be corrected.”

Actual time (meaning stop time for the ball to stop black in handball): “I support it. It should be the next rule in football. We get to matches with a 10 minute discount. With effective time, cheating, time wasting and useless things will be avoided. It is time to implement it.”
