Liverpool’s two most important players injured two weeks before Champions League final against Real Madrid

Very bad news for Liverpool. Salah, the team’s top scorer, was forced to withdraw from the FA Cup final against Chelsea due to a thigh problem. Two weeks before the Champions League final against Real Madrid, the Egyptian player is waiting for tests to find out the extent of his injury.

Salah only lasted 30 minutes on the field. Throwing himself on the ground for treatment, the worst was already expected, which was eventually confirmed by his replacement by Diogo Jota. The Liverpool striker went to the bench applauding his team.

Further examinations are expected in the next few hours, although the way he was discharged after being substituted indicates that the injury will not be serious.

Salah is really looking forward to facing Real Madrid in the final. In recent weeks, he has on several occasions expressed his desire for revenge after the Reds lost to the Whites in 2018.

Dutchman Virgil van Dijk was also forced off the field due to physical discomfort, before the start of extra time between Liverpool and Chelsea in the FA Cup final.

The Dutch centre-back, an undisputed fixture at Liverpool, lasted 90 minutes on the pitch before being replaced by Joel Matip.
