Liverpool and Real Madrid will meet on May 28 at the Stade de France in the final of this edition of the Champions League, and James Rodriguez already has his favourite. Despite his past in the White House, Qatari midfielder Al Rayyan wants the title to go to the Reds for one reason.
James spent four seasons spread over two stages at Real Madrid, winning the 2015/16 and 2016/17 UEFA Champions League, although he did not participate in the finals in Milan and Cardiff against Atletico Madrid and Juventus respectively.
In recent weeks, it became known that Rodriguez informed Al Rayyan of his desire to leave the club, so his return to Europe is beginning to emerge and West Ham United will be one of his potential destinations.
James concluded the season in Qatar with fifteen matches between the local league and the Emir’s Cup, 13 of them as a starter and scored five goals. But physical problems prevented him from continuing, and he did not have minutes in the group stage of the AFC Champions League, where Al Rayyan qualified for the round of 16 by ending the groups with 13 points.
The attacking midfielder said during a broadcast on Twitch: “I want Liverpool to be champions, and I have many friends in Real Madrid, which is a difficult team in these types of matches, but I want Liverpool to win for Luis Diaz.” (Reported that Luis Diaz is a Colombian and Rodriguez’s native)
Waiting for the market to determine its future
One of the questions of his followers referred to his future and possible return to European football, to which the owner of the No. 10 shirt in the Colombian national team replied: “In a few days, the market will open, we will see … and wherever they want me, I will go.” A return to the elite is a possibility. We will see who wants this ease.”
