Real Madrid have been following Aurelien Tchouaméni for months, sending scouts to watch the France international midfielder on several occasions.
They are not the only ones chasing after him but they are in no hurry to sign the midfielder, with other priorities ahead of the Monaco player.
The news coming out of the emirate speaks of the player being sold, and although they are not keen on selling to Ligue 1 rivals such as Paris Saint-Germain, Premier League teams are interested in taking on the player’s services.
Unless there is a change in Real Madrid’s plans, the decision is to continue with Casemiro, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga in the midfield.
The potential price of Tchouaméni could exceed the €30m Real Madrid paid for Camavinga in August 2021, a sticking point for Los Blancos.
It does not appear that Tchouaméni is ready to wait for another season in Monaco, even if the possibility of playing for Real Madrid means staying there for another year.
