The football world continues to pay tribute to one of the greatest rising talents of the moment: Judd Bellingham. The latest to join this wave has been Andy Cole, an English football legend whose track record includes the Champions League (with Manchester United) and over a dozen Premier League titles.
While speaking in the Football Daily about the deals his former team, Manchester United, should be planning, he dismissed the option of spending £150m on a midfielder like Declan Rice, quickly setting Bellingham as an example of a footballer to consider.
🗣 “£150M for a holding midfield player? That’s a lot of money. Not sure how many goals he’s going to get you from that position.”

Cole said: “If the possibility is opened this summer to sign with Rice or sign with Bellingham … understand me, personally I will spend 150 million pounds to sign Bellingham. You see the things he does when he’s 18 and it’s impressive.”
He added: “He is very talented, he scores goals. I find it absolutely terrifying that this young man is actually able to do all of that. I look at Rice and I see a huge player, that’s for sure, someone who understands very well. He knows what his role is and he does it superbly. But I see Bellingham and … I don’t know, it’s a different energy. He scored some great goals.”
Summer 2023
As revealed by AS newspaper, Real Madrid considers him a very exciting option to become the “new Modric” in the medium term. In no case will the operation be carried out this summer, because the club is focused on Haaland and, above all, Mbappe. But the next season may be a chance to try and do his signature.
He is currently 18 years old and plays for Borussia Dortmund and has a contract until 2025. His market value is around 75 million euros, according to Transfermarkt. Between Florentino Perez and Hans-Joachim Watzke, CEO of Dortmund, there is an excellent relationship.
