Confusion in Real Madrid because of the Club World Cup

The 2022-2023 season is about to start and it is not yet known when one of the most prestigious tournaments in the football calendar will be held: the FIFA Club World Cup. This could be a problem for Real Madrid, who should be involved in it after winning the Champions League in Paris against Liverpool.

In a season so challenging given the number of competitions the Whites will play (they are looking for the six), advance planning is crucial, especially considering that the World Cup will be played in the middle of the season.

Confusion in Real Madrid, who is waiting to know the date, because a title like this always affects the players’ readiness, given its special date in the season’s schedule. Bentos should know in advance when they will have to travel to China, the country that will host the Club World Cup in 2023. Thus, the Italian physical coach can adjust the efforts of his players.

A large number of Real Madrid players will participate in the World Cup from November 21 to December 18 in Qatar. Then they will head to the Spanish Super Cup, which is being held in Saudi Arabia, from January 11-15. The next date will already be the Club World Cup.

There are difficulties in finding the right date for the tournament. At the club they think it will be played in February, as it has in the last two seasons. However, there is a catch: the winner of the AFC Champions League will not be known until February 26th. Therefore, it will make it impossible to set up a competition on this date.

The alternatives would be to exclude the Asian champions or bring forward the date when the final will be played. As data, we must take into account that until today only three teams have a guaranteed place: Real Madrid, winners of the Champions League, Seattle Sounders as champions of the Confederation and Wydad Casablanca, who won the African champions. The remaining four will be, in addition to the aforementioned Asian Champions, Libertadores Champions, Oceania Champions and Chinese Super League, as representatives of the organizing country.
