Real Madrid contacts Chelsea to sign the latest summer deal

Chelsea maintain their position on Armando Broja amid surprising interest from Real Madrid. Thomas Tuchel wants to keep the Albanian striker until they have better options. Everton, West Ham and Newcastle are still keen to sign him.

The English Evening Standard newspaper reported that the Spanish giant is looking forward to the departure of many players in its attacking line and hopes to add a number of young strikers to their squad for next season.

The promising 20-year-old Broja certainly fits their budget and is among their targets. Premier League clubs have been calling him in all summer, with Everton, Newcastle and West Ham alluded to in serious interest in the player.

And Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel seemed open to loaning or even losing Roja earlier this summer, with London rivals West Ham chasing the player seriously.

However, Tuchel appears to have changed his stance and now the young striker is set to be part of the Blues squad for the start of the season.

“I don’t expect him to leave,” Tuchel said. We’re aware of the interest and the offers, which just tell us he has a lot of potential, and the owner and I will make that decision together in the end, also with the player.”

He added: “Now when he arrives, he is obviously trying to impress me and is just trying to become a Chelsea player as quickly as possible. After his loan to Southampton, it was very clear for him to take the next step, to show his improvement and make an impression in the pre-season.”

And he concluded: “Unfortunately, he was injured and of course there is a lot of hype because there are offers and interest in him. Let’s see how it goes but I’m very calm about it because we know the situation and we have a contract.”

Chelsea loaned Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan this summer, and while Raheem Sterling is a major addition to the front line, they have not included a real striker and could leave the door open for Boja.

Karim Benzema, a Real Madrid player, will turn 35 next December, and Real Madrid will think about life after the Frenchman.

The Champions League winner has already signed Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea this summer after his contract with the London club expired.
